Ridiculous and unbelievable: candidate removed from ballot because nominating papers didn't have a paperclip!

MySuburbanLife.com:
"Wright, Wood and Kefalos came to a unanimous decision that there was not a paperclip on Hughes’ nominating papers when she filed for candidacy on the school board.

Per Illinois Election Code 10-4, “The petition sheet shall be neatly fastened together in book form and fastened together at one edge in a secure and suitable manner.”"

Wow. This is the most unbelievable ballot access story I've ever heard. Fear of this sort of irrational interpretation is what caused me many sleepless nights when I was working to get Romney on the ballot in '08.
