Election Day voter registration doesn't make sense

As the old saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Yet that is exactly what some in the Delaware General Assembly would propose to do with House Bill 105. They want to make it possible for someone to walk into a polling place on Election Day, with no prior notice and with something as flimsy as a utility bill or bank statement or a government document that merely has a name and address on it, and allow that person to register and vote. The invitation for mischief is easily imaginable. And for some, the temptation for fraud almost certainly irresistible.
