Jack Abramoff: Healthy ruling for lobbyists

Jack Abramoff, the former lobbyist who served time in jail for corruption, warned on Thursday that the Supreme Court ruling on President Barack Obama’s health care law has opened more doors for lobbyists to influence government officials.

The high court last week upheld the Affordable Care Act, ruling that Congress has the power to require most Americans to buy health insurance through its authority to tax. The decision, Abramoff said, offers lobbyists a new “legal framework” in which to influence lawmakers in Washington, D.C.
