Republican view: Obama machine is targeting Romney

USATODAY

For any organization to be effective, its leadership has to have credibility. Our Super PAC is led by co-founders who have extensive political experience, including previously working for Romney, giving our donors the comfort that their contributions will be used effectively. And unlike Priorities USA, run by former Obama White House staffers, Restore Our Future publicly reports every contribution raised. Priorities USA has already run ads attacking Romney, and now Obama's allies in the news media and campaign "reform" community are attacking us to deflect attention from the disastrous Obama economic record that can't stand up to Romney's experience and leadership.
A long line of court decisions, going back to Buckley v. Valeo in 1976, and more recently Citizens United v. FEC, and SpeechNow.org v. FEC, have affirmed our First Amendment right of free speech through individuals and organizations independently expressly advocating a candidate. The activities of Super PACs, such as Restore Our Future, are not only constitutionally protected, but also are important for our democracy because they add voices to the political discourse. Restore Our Future will continue to fully comply with the law and will not be silenced by critics who disagree with our viewpoint.
