Romney gets big Twitter bump from video announcement

Romney added nearly 1,900 Twitter followers in the day after launching his YouTube video, and has added another 1,500 since then, for a total of 36,127 Twitter followers as of this writing. This latest bump pulls him ahead of ahead of New Jersey governor Chris Christie into 6th place among the tweeting GOP presidential hopefuls, behind Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal and Rick Perry.

On Facebook, Romney already has a much larger following --- 850,000 strong. He saw a very modest bump from Monday's announcement of about 6,300 new fans or "likes" of his official page in the first 48 hours, but growth since then has been steady.
