Anti-Mitch McConnell PAC warned by FEC

A super PAC aiming to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was warned by the Federal Election Commission after it missed a deadline for filing required reports.

FEC officials sent a letter on Feb. 19 to Progress Kentucky, which was formed in December to oppose McConnell, to inform the group that “failure to timely file a complete report may result in civil money penalties, an audit or legal enforcement action,” Politico reports.

“The civil money penalty calculation for late reports does not include a grace period and begins on the day following the due date for the report,” the letter said.
