The Washington Post:
"Nowhere. The Globe got it right. Obama’s campaign committee pulled in $47 million. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) scored $38 million. The total came to $86 million.
Did all those other outlets, then, get it wrong? The answer to that question, says Sheila Krumholz, is “complicated.” Krumholz, executive director of the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, says that the ”$86 million haul” language is “a bit fast and loose” because it doesn’t draw a bright enough line between the president’s committee and the party’s efforts."
